Rose de Mai is a very soothing essential oil. It is considered one of the best all-purpose essential oils. It is helpful for depression, grief, and anger. It helps relieve anxiety. All rose varieties are considered “heart opener” essential oils, and as such are one of the best oils to use in times of emotional crisis. It has a profound effect on the skin and is helpful for broken capillaries, wrinkles, dry skin, and eczema, and is excellent for sensitive skin.

Which Rose should I choose?
Rose Absolute and Rose Otto can be used interchangeably. Rose Absolute is thicker, has a dark orange color, and has a very intense scent. Rose Otto is steam distilled and is less overpowering to your sense of smell, it is also thinner and clear so it won't stain like the absolute. Rose de Mai has a very potent sensuous aroma that is said to be closer to the true scent of the fresh rose. Rose Absolute and Rose de Mai are solvent extracted while Rose Otto is steam distilled. Rose de Mai smells closer to a rose than any other I have ever smelled.
